The Ashes Remembered explores the quiet moment when memory and present reality stop being the same thing. A solitary figure searches through the remains of a fire with the persistence of someone still hoping to find warmth where it once lived. The ash carries evidence of what existed, but evidence is not the same as presence. The work asks when remembrance remains an expression of love—and when it becomes only evidence that love was once there.
